Karen Greenwood Henke
specializes in building consensus between stakeholders and articulating complex ideas in clear, concise language. She is currently researching a book about how technology personalizes the learning process and will transform our k-12 education system.

In 1999, she founded Nimble Press, a strategic communications consulting firm located in San Francisco, California, to help technology companies, national nonprofits, and trade associations create compelling Web content, white papers, presentations, and contests to convey their messages in effective and persuasive ways. She specializes in networking, security and computing technology with an emphasis on Web 2.0 applications.

Karen has excellent presentation and interviewing skills. She is an expert in optimizing Web content to improve the user experience, increase awareness and capture leads. Clients include top Silicon Valley technology companies (VeriSign, National Semiconductor, Cisco, Dell, Sun Microsystems), national non-profit organizations (Project Tomorrow/Speak Up) and trade associations (Consortium for School Networking).

Henke regularly presents as a technology expert at education conferences and has written articles for Technology & Learning Magazine, Scholastic Administrator, Consortium for School Networking Compendium, and Threshold Magazine. In 2006, she was elected to the Consortium for School Networking Board of Directors, a national educational technology advocacy and membership organization.

From 1995 to 1998, Karen was the project director for education initiatives at Smart Valley, San Mateo, CA

    • Organized 14,500 volunteers, 112 corporate partners, and $27 million in grants and donated services to network more than 10,500 instructional rooms in 350 Silicon Valley schools.
    • Managed the build and delivery of 6,000 computers to 450 schools with $12 million in donations and a budget of $480,000.

In 1989, she was the second employee at Global Business Network, futurists and experts in scenario planning. She established a research library, edited and designed publications, and created presentations for President Peter Schwartz. Karen helped establish operational and business practices to help GBN grow into a multi-million dollar consulting firm.
